The Order of Christian Initiation for Adults (OCIA) is the process through which the Church welcomes new members. OCIA and Adult Confirmation classes meet at 3:00 p.m. Saturdays at the St. Thomas Aquinas Student Center (SPC) at 1218 College Ave. from September to May. (See schedule below.) These programs are for those who want an encounter with Jesus Christ through study of the Catholic Faith and fellowship with others in the journey of conversion, prayer, and especially through the reception of the Sacraments of Initiation at Easter Vigil.
OCIA is for those who are unbaptized, baptized in another Christian denomination, or Catholics who are baptized but have not been catechized in the Faith. Adult Confirmation is for those baptized Catholics who have received the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist, are practicing in the faith, but have never been confirmed.
Whether you are just beginning to explore the Catholic faith or have been considering becoming Catholic for some time, we are here to walk with you on your journey of faith.
Youth OCIA is for young people ages 7 - 17 years who have not received the Sacrament of Baptism in the Catholic Church. OCIA Youth classes meet at 1:30 p.m. Saturdays at the St. Thomas Aquinas Student Center (SPC) at 1218 College Ave. from September to May. For information and to register your child, contact the Parish Office at 806-894-2268.
