St. Michael's Parish Council is seeking two new members to represent the 9:00 a.m. Mass. If you are interested in running for one of these positions, contact Fr. St. Michael Parish will host a Lenten Mission on Sunday, March 17 in English and Monday, March 18 in Spanish. Deacon Jerry Dueñes with St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church in Shallowater will be the featured presenter. A meal will be served in the Parish Hall at 6 p.m. with the Mission presentation to follow at 7:00 p.m. in the Church.
A Lenten Penance Service is scheduled for Tuesday, March 5 from 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. in the Church. Arrangements are being made to schedule an adequate number of priests to assist with confessions.
The St. Michael Funeral Ministry will be selling cheese enchiladas plates for Ash Wednesday, Feb. 14 from 11:00 a.m. -2:00 p.m. and 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Plates are available for dine in or carry out for $10 each and include two cheese enchiladas, beans, rice, salad, drink and dessert. Ash Wednesday is a day of fasting and abstinence from meat. All proceeds go toward the Funeral Ministry.
The Knights of Columbus will host a Fish Fry on each Friday during Lent from 5:00-7:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Cost is $12 a plate for adults and $6 a plate for children 10 and younger. Carry out plates are $12. Menu includes fried fish, french fries, hush puppies, coleslaw, pinto beans, dessert and tea. The fish fry dinner will be held Feb 16, 23, March 1, 8, and 15. Carry out plates only on March 22.

St. Michael Parish will observe the beginning of the Season of Lent on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 14 with the following services: 10 a.m. Imposition of Ashes at Covenant Hospital Levelland; 12 p.m. Imposition of Ashes at South Plains College Sundown Room; 12:15 p.m. Communion Service and Imposition of Ashes in the Church; 7:00 p.m. Bilingual Mass in the Church. It is an observed day of fasting and abstinence from meat.

The Parish Religious Education Program has announced that CCE and Youth Classes will observe the Christmas Holidays according to the following schedule. No CCE classes on Sunday, Dec. 24 and Dec. 31. Classes will resume Sunday, Jan. 7. No Youth Classes Wednesday Dec. 27 and Jan 3. Classes will resume with Holy Hour and Confessions on Wednesday, Jan 10. OCIA classes will resume Tuesday, Jan. 9.
St. Michael Catholic Church will celebrate a Christmas Eve Children's Mass at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24. A Nativity Play presented by CCE students will be held after Mass in the Parish Hall. Mass on Christmas Day, Monday, Dec. 25 will be at 10:00 a.m. There will be no Mass at Midnight on Christmas Eve.
Las Posadas is a tradition that celebrates Joseph and Mary's journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem. Our Parish is seeking families who will host an evening of Las Posadas from Dec. 19 - 22 at 7:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Contact the Parish Administrative Office if you are interested, 806-894-2268. Fr. Ernesto Lopez will lead our Parish Advent Mission on Dec. 17 (English) and Dec. 18 (Spanish). The program will begin with a meal in the Parish Hall at 5:00 p.m. followed by the Mission presentation. Fr. Ernesto is a former pastor for St. Michael's and is currently the pastor for St. Anthony of Padua in Anton and St. Philip Benizi in Shallowater.
St. Michael Parish will celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Tuesday, Dec. 12 with a number of events that will culminate with Mass at 7:00 p.m. The Guadalupanas are currently leading a Novena to Our Lady of Guadalupe with Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m. daily in the Chapel. A bilingual Mass of Thanksgiving will be offered at 7:00 p.m. Wed., Nov. 22 in the Church. Parishioners are invited to bring their food items they will prepare for their Thanksgiving Day meal to be blessed by Fr. Jonathan Phillips at the end of Mass.
St. Michael Parish is looking for volunteers who can help prepare a Thanksgiving Day meal for those in the Hockley County Jail. Preparation will take place at 8:00 a.m. Wed., Nov. 22 in the Parish Hall and individual meals will be assembled from 7:30-10:30 a.m. Thurs., Nov. 23. Youth who have been baptized and have received First Holy Communion are eligible to be trained as altar servers. Training will begin Dec. 3 from 1:00 - 3:30 p.m. on Sundays and from 5:30-7:00 p.m. on Mondays. You may sign up after each Mass or contact the Parish Office at (806) 894-2268.
St. Michael Parish will pray for the faithful departed Nov. 2 with Mass at 7:00 p.m. In the church gathering space, you will find prayer cards on which you can write the names of your departed loved ones. These will be presented during the Offertory and will be enshrined in the church throughout the month of November.
The 3rd Annual Fall Festival is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 29 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. in the Parish Hall. Fun for the entire family with costume contest, games, prizes, food, cake walk, candies, and silent action. No scary costumes please. Proceeds benefit the Parish CCE Program.
