First Communion

First Communion instruction is a two-year program that typically begins with second graders enrolled in the CCE program. These students enroll in the Communion 1 class which is required before enrollment in the Communion 2 class (typically in third grade). Older children who have not had any Communion preparation are required to take the Communion 1 class first, followed by the Communion 2 class.
FIRST COMMUNION PREPARATION AND REQUIREMENTS
In order to receive the sacrament, students must be baptized, attend the CCE classes, attend Mass on Sundays and attend the First Communion Retreat. Parent meetings are scheduled from time to time as chidren complete the instructional program.First Communion Retreat
A retreat for students preparing for First Communion will be held from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2023. Students will also receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time during the retreat.First Communion Liturgies
First Communion Litugies are scheduled for 9:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Sunday, April 30, 2023 and Sunday, May 7, 2023.
