The mission of the Lector Ministry is to proclaim the Scripture at Mass. Those participating in this ministry should be motivated by spiritual reasons: desire to proclaim the Word of God so that people listen and understand.  Lectors prepare before each assignment. Helpful skills include public speaking ability and a willingness to respond to suggestions for improvement. Individuals who read and speak Spanish fluently are also needed as Lectors for the Spanish Mass.
 
Scheduling is based on lector time preferences and availability.  Adults and high school youth who are fully initiated into the Church are welcome.  Training and mentoring are provided.
