St. Michael Catholic Church’s youth program will host a summer co-ed Youth Sand Volleyball League that is open to all youth in the Levelland community.
The league will include two age divisions, which include middle school 6th to 8th grade and high school and recent graduates under age 20.
“St. Michael’s Parish is wanting to offer a fun and family-friendly activity for the youth of our Levelland community this summer,” said Fr. Jonathan Phillips, pastor. “Anyone is welcome to register a team.” Cost is $5 per team player.
The league is being organized by Veronica Muñiz who said that game times will be every Wednesday beginning June 8. Middle school teams will play at 5:30 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. and high school teams will play 7 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. The game schedule will also be adjusted as needed to accommodate the number of teams in each age group.
Games will be played in the sand volleyball area that is located behind St. Michael’s Education Center at 319 E. Washington St.
Muñiz said that the league is designed to be a co-ed activity. Each team may have a maximum of eight players, but at least one player must be a female. No more than three male players may be on the court during the best of three games.
To register, call or text Muñiz at (806) 598-9022. Deadline to register is June 1.
