The Memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church is a new liturgical feast, added by Pope Francis to the calendar in March 2018. The day celebrates the Blessed Mother under the title that was officially conferred upon her during the Second Vatican Council. The memorial is celebrated the Monday after the Feast of Pentacost.

Fr. Jonathan Philiips will lead a special pilgrimage June 6 for the Spanish Community to celebrate this Memorial at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Lubbock. The group will leave St. Michael Church at 5:30 p.m. and Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe at 7:00 p.m. with Fr. Martin Pina presiding and Fr. Jonathan concelebrating.
